About us

At Ritisuyo, we believe in the power of discovery. Our name itself, derived from the Inca language Quechua, translates to “the unknown kingdom” – a sentiment that perfectly mirrors our mission. We are dedicated to curating adventure tours that go beyond the well-trodden paths, inviting you to explore the hidden treasures nestled in the breathtaking Cusco region.

Relationality — The intricate relationship between the individual and the collective whole is a cornerstone of our ethos. Recognizing that every action affects the ecosystem, we are dedicated to minimizing our footprint and maximizing our positive contributions.
Reciprocity — We strive to create a harmonious balance in the exchange of goods and services among all the actors we engage with, ensuring inclusivity and fairness for everyone involved.
Complementarity — Our operation thrives through the collaborative efforts of every actor
involved. Hence, we hold the Ritisuyo team, communities, clients, and authorities in equal regard, recognizing their indispensable contributions to our shared mission.

Terms and conditions

On-line payments

All Ritisuyo activities are subject to itinerary changes. The company reserves the right to cancel or change any trip due to inclement weather conditions, legal mandates within or beyond the country, and/or other health and safety related concerns. We also reserve the right to cancel any trip due to client unsuitability, such as poor health status.

Any missed tours due to the above listed circumstances cannot be refunded.

The price and duration of a trip will never change after you have made a reservation. Payments are non-refundable for itinerary changes or public land closures. If an activity is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control, the company will not be able to give a refund.

Cancellation and refund policy

If you cancel a Ritisuyo activity for any reason:

The payment needed for the confirmation of any activity is non-refundable.

The full payment is required 24 hrs prior to the start of the activity. In case of not being able to make full payment within said time frame, an alternative payment system must be arranged and coordinated. If this is not done, we will sadly have to cancel your activity.

In case of delayed arrivals to Cusco (due to delayed flights, buses, etc.), Ritisuyo assumes no responsibility for missed tours or tour departures. Ritisuyo staff will do their best to accommodate and make the required modifications. However, all additional costs for such modifications will be incurred by the traveller.

In case of sickness while on the trail, emergency costs for transportation, etc. will be incurred by the traveller.

Medical releases

We love taking travellers on adventures! However, the Peruvian Andes present particular physical challenges (especially high altitude), and we thus must ensure that all travellers making reservations are prepared for the conditions they will encounter on trail.

For our multi-day treks, we require medical releases for prospective guests over 40 years of age and for any traveller with known medical conditions such as a history of cardiovascular disease, chronic illness, respiratory illness, and any other conditions or factors that may impact your ability to safely travel with us.

Please let us know if you have any medical conditions or dietary restrictions when making your reservation so that we can accommodate your needs.

Insurance

Ritisuyo does not provide insurance to travellers as a component of tour reservations. However, for your protection, we strongly recommend the purchase of travel insurance. Travel insurance can provide you with coverage for trip cancellation or interruption, travel delay, medical expenses, emergency assistance, and/or lost baggage to protect your financial investment. Medical coverage purchased with your policy will also satisfy our requirement for health insurance.
