The full itinerary

Day 1:

We kick off our journey from Cusco at 9:00 a.m., making our way to the charming village of Socma. Here, we will prepare all necessary equipment before setting out on our trek. After a scenic two-hour hike, we will reach the stunning Perolniyoc waterfalls, providing a perfect spot for rest and capturing memories of this natural wonder. Our path then leads us to Raqaypata, an archaeological site nestled at an altitude of 3800 meters, where we will savor a boxed lunch and explore the ancient ruins. Finally, we will make our way to the campsite for a satisfying dinner and a restful night’s sleep.

Day 2:

At the break of dawn, following a breakfast prepared by our dedicated team, we will set our sights on the breathtaking Inti Punku. The journey to this remarkable site will span approximately five hours.  Translating  to  ‘Door  of  the  Sun’  in  Quechua,  Inti  Punku  holds  special  significance, particularly during the summer solstice, when the rising sun aligns perfectly with the door perched atop a mountain. This moment offers a perfect opportunity for capturing photographs and relishing the magical atmosphere. We will have the privilege of spending the night in close proximity to Inti Punku, setting up camp just a few meters away.

Day 3:

Early in the morning, we will set out for Ollantaytambo, embarking on a roughly four-hour descent to reach our destination. Once in Ollantaytambo, we will eat a well-deserved lunch before catching the train to Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu town.

Day 4:

In the early hours, we will visit Machu Picchu, guided by our knowledgeable expert who will unveil the mysteries and history of this ancient city of the Incas. After our exploration, we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo, followed by a bus journey to Cusco, arriving around 19:00. This marks the conclusion of our trek through the Andes to Machu Picchu.
